Your physician or provider will ask you questions about the history of your pain. For example, did you sustain an injury?
Was there any trauma involved?
Next, your healthcare provider will examine you and evaluate your painful areas. She may touch or press different places on your body and perform specific physical exam tests. You will have to describe your pain. Is your pain sharp, dull, or achy? Tell them if you have constant pain, or if it comes and goes.
Imaging may be required, such as MRI, CT Scan, or X-rays. Multidisciplinary modality to help and treat the pain may include physical rehabilitation, medication therapy, and injection therapy.
